WDM CREATES BEAUFORT CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL TOURISM WEEK

BEAUFORT, SC (May 7, 2010) – World Design Marketing (WDM) has been hired by the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce to design the local campaign for National Tourism Week including print ads, billboards and a micro-site.

National Tourism Week is an annually recognized event celebrated in May. Since its inception, the U.S. travel community has collectively marked the event in a number of creative ways. from staging local rallies and conducting media outreach to securing proclamations and resolutions from local legislative bodies.

“Tourism has a huge impact on our community here in Beaufort and providing a source of data and information for our government officials, community leaders, and the general public will be an ongoing effort of the Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitor Bureau. This year’s campaign will be the start of this continuing effort,” says Wayne Johnson, President of WDM.

THE CITY OF SAVANNAH TAPS WDM FOR NEW WEBSITE
 
SAVANNAH, GA (June 8, 2010) – The City of Savannah has contracted World Design Marketing (WDM) to design, program, and host a new website for the Coastal Workforce Services Office. The new website will provide training and educational services to assist coastal Georgia communities to develop, promote, support, and sustain a globally competitive workforce.

“We are proud to be chosen from a field of 24 applicants to design and build this new website for coastal Georgia,” explains Susan D’Anna, Account Manager for WDM. “Our new content management platform will allow this site to grow over time as the needs of our community increase and the services provided by the Coastal Workforce Services Office grow.”

The new site will incorporate the latest technology and a powerful content management system that will allow the employees of Coastal Workforce Services to keep the site current and make updates.

The design process will begin in July and will be complete within 90 days.

TORCH RELAY FOR CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK RETAINS WDM FOR FOURTH YEAR

ORLANDO, FL (June 22, 2010) – WDM is delighted to announce that 2010 marks the fourth year of being the agency of record for the Torch Relay event. The national fundraiser is a unique multi-day event where participants can walk, run or cycle a segment of the Relay at events throughout the country to raise money for their local Children's Hospital.

World Design Marketing (WDM) will be developing the 2010 Torch Relay brand identity which includes everything from advertising materials and sponsor brochures to giant bus wraps, T-shirts, and all event materials for this nationwide fundraiser.

“We are so pleased to continue our support of this great cause. We not only have fun providing marketing expertise throughout the year, but it’s also a blast for all of us at WDM to participate in the activities surrounding the Torch Relay,” states Wayne Johnson, President of WDM.

The Torch Relay will pass through South Carolina on November 6th and 7th.

WDM TO REBRAND SENIOR CITIZENS, INC.
 
SAVANNAH, GA (May 1, 2010) – Senior Citizens Inc. hired World Design Marketing (WDM) to develop a new name and brand identity for the organization.

“The new name and identity will better reflect the needs and wants of a new generation of seniors that we will be serving for fifty years to come,” explains Wayne Johnson, President of WDM. “This new generation of seniors has unique characteristics. They show up on motorcycles to play in Nintendo Wii tournaments and join investment clubs.. The next fifty years will be an exciting time for Senior Citizens, Inc and their new name and logo are just the start.”

WDM will be conducting research and making recommendations on a new name for this important organization. A new logo will also be developed. Senior Citizens, Inc. is celebrating 50 years of service to the Savannah senior community.

WORLD DESIGN MARKETING SECURES GEORGIA TECH SAVANNAH CONTRACT

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (March 26, 2009)- World Design Marketing (WDM), a fully integrated advertising agency with agency offices in Orlando, Florida, and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, was recently contracted by Georgia Tech Savannah (GTS) to manage and develop marketing initiatives for the institution.

WDM will be doing a brand study that will support the development strategy to raise awareness of this enterprise with three important audiences across the region. The Georgia Institute of Technology began operations of a Savannah Campus in 2003. Situated on 47 acres of land on the West side of Savannah, donated by the Savannah Economic Development Authority, GTS features 107,000 square feet of academic facilities.

2010 marks the sixth year of the Reader’s Choice Awards. Over a 10-day voting window in May, ballots were available online at www.islandpacket.com where loyal customers could vote once a day for their favorite companies. This year, almost 17,000 ballots tallying over 244,000 individual votes were cast for the selection of the Reader’s Choice Awards- a survey of the best people and businesses in Southern Beaufort County. WDM has been retained by Horizon, Inc. to plan and implement an allencompassing advertising and marketing plan, which includes media planning and buying, branding and research, ad campaign creative and ongoing strategy development and consultation.

What started as a third generation plumbing service 17 years ago is now a $14 million company that is licensed in 12 states. Based in Ridgeland, SC, Horizon, Inc. has completed projects from the Eastern Seaboard to the Midwest.

The blog, which is titled “Marketing Minute,” has had 76 entries in the past year. That totals about 1 blog every 4.8 days or 1 blog every 3.4 business days. A wide range of entries have been made, from serious tips on marketing your business to the loss of the Taco Bell Chihuahua.

Several studies indicate that most blogs are abandoned soon after creation (with 60% to 80% abandoned within one month) and that few are regularly updated. AGENCY AWARDED DESTINATION WEBSITE CONTRACT

The site will be utilized as a key tool in marketing Beaufort as a destination.

WDM was selected from among 7 finalists that represent the top web companies in the region.
